My name is Briaizha I was born September 26, 1998. I’m 16, making me the youngest in Automatic. I grew up in Chicago, IL on the South Side. I started writing poetry in 5th grade starting off with a class assignment “Me against the world” then I just got hooked. I didn’t really dedicate my life to poetry until after meeting K Love the Poet February 12, 2014 through my job with True Star Magazine. I met Lo-Kee through Lyric Lagoon, a weekly open mic held by Lyric Mentoring at the KLEO Center. I instantly fell in love with his song “I’m Back”.  The Name “Jae Da Poet” started off as Lyrikal Jae. Jae coming from the first letter of my middle name (Jordyn) then just playing around with the spelling. I went to J The Poet. I got to Jae Da Poet on June 27th, 2014 while sitting in McDonalds with Cypha, an Automatic member; he said everything is better when you put “Da” instead of “The”. I met the rest of Automatic the Tuesday after Cypha died, I will never forget that day. That day was emotional, but I realized I met the group of people I know are going to be there for me. Right now I’m still in high school (MP MUSTANGS) and focusing on school, being in Lil Lyric , making sure my brothers are good and trying so hard to never let Cypha’s legacy die.
